Indocyanine green (ICG) is the current workhorse for NIR fluorescence-guided procedures during laboratory research. However, it is typically synthesized with up to 5% sodium iodide and with a relatively low purity. Curadel has developed methods that produce ICG with a purity at 210 nm of ≥ 95% and iodide levels below detection using Schöniger combustion. The Lab-FLARE® brand of ICG is thus the ideal reagent to use whenever ICG is needed.
